BorrowLenses.com

I normally don’t blog about bodies, lenses, and accessories. However, those of you out there that rent lenses on a regular basis you might want to check out this site (www.borrowlenses.com).

If you are in a small market (I’m told my market, Dallas, is just that) you may run into a situation where renting a lens for a day can cost upwards of $40 to $45 (which is the case here). The same lens (most recently a 70-200 L 2.8) though borrowlenses.com ran me $71 for “10″ days. If you include the round trip shipping (fedex for me was about $40 I think) you come out to a whopping $11 a day! The longer your rent…the better the deal. 14 days came out to be about $8.5 per day.

I’ve rented from them a few times now and will continue to so. If you are planning your projects ahead of time and know when you’ll need the lenses you can certainly save yourself some overhead. The lenses have always been on time and always in perfect condition.
